*Diddy’s legal team is challenging the federal search warrants that led to raids on his properties last year, claiming the government made false probable cause claims when applying for them.
TMZ reports that in documents filed on Sunday, Sean Combs’ lawyers argue that the evidence presented by the feds was misleading and distorted the facts to secure the warrants. The search involved investigations into Diddy’s “freak-off” parties involving male and female sex workers, many were allegedly transported across state lines. Diddy’s team also contends that the alleged victims had financial motives for making their accusations and the federal government concealed this information.
Combs’ lawyers claim the federal government secured warrants before “leaking damaging information” after raids on his homes in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, where they seized hard drives and surveillance equipment. These raids ultimately led to the music mogul’s arrest late last year on charges including racketeering and sex trafficking.
The attorneys are asking the judge to suppress all evidence obtained in the raids because the feds “presented a grossly distorted picture of the facts” when obtaining the search warrants.

Diddy was arrested in September 2024 on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution, all of which he has pleaded not guilty to. The disgraced hip-hop star is currently detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, he is scheduled to stand trial on May 5. If convicted, Combs faces a minimum sentence of 15 years and potentially life in prison.
Meanwhile, we reported earlier that Anthony Ricco, a distinguished criminal defense attorney, has unexpectedly withdrawn from Combs’ defense team just months before the high-profile federal trial is set to begin.
The departure, confirmed through a motion filed in the Southern District of New York federal court, has sparked discussions about the potential implications for Diddy’s legal strategy as he faces severe charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and kidnapping.
Ricco cited an inability to “effectively serve as counsel” for Diddy, although he did not expound further on the reasons underpinning this decision. However, insiders with knowledge of the case have suggested that Ricco felt unable to forge the type of relationship with Diddy necessary to represent him successfully.
