*Campbell Soup Company is facing a lawsuit after former security analyst Robert Garza claimed he was fired for reporting inappropriate conduct by a senior executive.
Filed on November 20, 2025, in Wayne County Circuit Court, the complaint names the company and supervisor J.D. Aupperle as defendants. Garza’s claims stem from a meeting in late 2024 with Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer Martin Bally. Garza said he expected to discuss his salary, but Bally allegedly delivered an hour-long tirade criticizing the company’s products, customers, and employees, including making racially offensive comments about Indian colleagues.
Portions of the recording aired on Detroit’s Local 4 News, where Bally is heard disparaging Indian employees, referencing “bioengineered meat” in Campbell’s soups, and saying, “I don’t wanna eat a piece of chicken that came from a 3-D printer.” He also claimed the company makes “highly processed” products for “poor people.”
The Campbell Soup’s Vice President wasn’t just caught saying Campbell’s soups are for poor people and use bioengineered meat
He literally said on a secret recording the company is using “3D printed meat”

“We have sh*t for f*cking poor people. I don’t f*king buy Campbell’s products barely anymore,” Bally said in the recording. “It’s unhealthy, now that I know what the f*ck’s in it. Even in a can of soup, bioengineered meat — I don’t wanna eat a f*cking piece of chicken that came from a 3D printer, you?”
At one point, Bally admitted he came to work after consuming marijuana edibles. Garza described the exchange as leaving him with “pure disgust.”
After keeping the recording private for several weeks, Garza reported Bally’s comments to his supervisor in January 2025. According to his attorney, Zachary Runyan, Garza was terminated less than a month later despite having no disciplinary record. The lawsuit contends that Campbell Soup retaliated against Garza and maintained a racially hostile work environment.
Campbell’s noted that if the recording is authentic, Bally’s remarks are “unacceptable” and “do not reflect our values and the culture of our company.”
Bally was placed on temporary leave while the company conducts its investigation, and Campbell Soup emphasized that the comments came from an IT executive, not someone involved in food production. The legal proceedings are ongoing in Wayne County Circuit Court.
