Black Information Network Turns Five With Major Milestones
*The Black Information Network (BIN) is celebrating its fifth anniversary as the first 24/7 all-news audio network created for Black audiences. Since launching on June 30, 2020, BIN has grown into a trusted source of news and community storytelling.
The network now reaches over 19 million monthly listeners across the country. Its growth shows the strong need for news that reflects Black voices and local perspectives.
Nationwide Reach and Local Coverage Expand BIN’s Impact
BIN news content is now featured on more than 100 radio stations across the U.S. This makes it one of the largest Black-led news platforms in American radio today.
BIN provides targeted news to 65 of the nation’s largest Black communities. Each city gets coverage that speaks to its unique challenges and successes.

Leaders Celebrate BIN’s Trusted Journalism and Future Goals
BIN President Tony Coles shared how proud he is of the network’s progress. He said the platform has become a vital source of information for Black Americans.
“BIN: Black Information Network has become a trusted and indispensable voice for Black communities in America,” said Tony Coles, President, BIN. “In just five years, we’ve transformed how local and national news reaches our audiences. We are giving a voice to the stories that have gone untold for too long. We are providing freedom to journalists to pursue meaningful reporting – and we’re just getting started.”
BIN plans to keep growing and creating more powerful, local journalism in the years ahead. The network invites communities to join in the celebration and tune in across podcasts, stations, and digital platforms.
What Makes Black Information Network Stand Out
The Black Information Network fills a major gap in mainstream media by offering constant news from a Black perspective. It focuses on truth, accuracy, and cultural relevance.
Unlike traditional outlets, BIN centers the voices and stories that are often left out. This includes social justice issues, community victories, and Black-led solutions to today’s problems.

BIN’s Network and National Reach Keep Growing
BIN is distributed on the iHeartRadio app and can be heard across 250+ platforms and 2,000 devices. It also airs on AM/FM stations in 34 markets including Atlanta, New York, Chicago, and Detroit.
In addition to radio, BIN shares its content with over 100 radio stations and Black newspapers nationwide. This allows for even greater reach and local engagement.
Why BIN’s Mission Matters to Communities
Many Black Americans say they don’t see their realities reflected in mainstream media. BIN changes that by focusing on real issues in real time.
The platform has become a space where Black journalists and creators can report with depth and truth. Listeners know they can trust BIN for accurate news that speaks to their lives.
Black Information Network in the News and Online
As BIN celebrates five years, its reputation continues to grow. It’s frequently highlighted by industry leaders and celebrated by listeners on social media.
The network’s focus on truth, justice, and cultural pride makes it stand out in the crowded media world. It’s not just a news source—it’s a movement for change.
