*Bad Bunny is preparing to turn the Super Bowl halftime stage into a cultural statement rather than a conventional crowd-pleasing performance.
The Puerto Rican global star is reportedly planning a show that highlights queer icons and challenges long-standing expectations tied to the NFL’s most-watched event. According to Radar Online, the Grammy-winning artist intends to use the massive platform to honor “generations of drag, resistance and cultural rebellion.” Sources close to the performer suggest the halftime show will be deliberately bold and designed to provoke conversation rather than appeal to everyone watching at home.
Those familiar with the creative direction say controversy is part of the plan. “He loves controversy. He lives to push envelopes,” one stylist said of the artist’s approach. The same source added, “He is 100 percent going to wear a dress. A political thunderbolt disguised as couture.”

Another insider emphasized that the performance will not follow familiar Super Bowl formulas. “He’s not playing it safe. The NFL has no idea what’s coming. Zero,” the source claimed. While the show is not described as a direct attack on institutions, it is expected to unsettle parts of the league’s traditionally conservative audience.
Bad Bunny’s selection as the Super Bowl LX halftime performer at Levi’s Stadium has already generated significant backlash among some football fans. Critics argue that his music does not resonate with the broad, cross-generational audience typically associated with the annual event.
The criticism intensified after a petition surfaced calling for his replacement, with Snoop Dogg frequently mentioned as a preferred alternative. The petition stressed that the concerns were not personal and stated, “I want to be clear I do not condone any racism or hateful behavior connected to this petition. I have no issue with Bad Bunny as an artist he is talented and successful.”
The petition also underscored the halftime show’s legacy, noting, “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is one of the most iconic events in entertainment, drawing millions of viewers from all around the globe.”
Despite the controversy, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed in October that the league has no plans to remove Bad Bunny from the lineup.
