*Anthony Anderson is under fire after a 2003 clip from “The Sharon Osbourne Show” resurfaced, showing him joking about his preference for younger women while interviewing a then-teenage Lindsay Lohan.
In the video, Anderson, filling in as a guest host, asked Lohan about her living situation with Raven-Symoné, noting they are “both beautiful women.” When the conversation turned to Lohan’s dating life, she stated, “No one,” and clarified, “I’m illegal for people that are old.” As Page Six reports, Anderson, then 33, responded, “Well, you know some men like them young. We ain’t gonna mention no names but, you know, I’m one of them,” laughing as the audience reacted tepidly.
Anderson’s representative defended the comedian, telling Entertainment Weekly, “This interview was clearly intended as comedy.” The spokesperson added, “He regrets if the humor was in poor taste and maintains the utmost respect for Lindsay. Any implication to the contrary is both inaccurate and potentially defamatory.”
The backlash intensified online, with one user questioning, “Is it a rule that to be successful in Hollywood you have to be a complete creep?” Another referenced Anderson’s past sexual assault allegations, asking, “How does he still have a career?????” The clip has reignited scrutiny of the “Black-ish” star’s conduct.
During the 2003 interview, Lohan discussed her decorating preferences, favoring pink, which contrasted with Symoné’s style. Anderson’s probing about “gentleman” visitors prompted Lohan to confirm her single status, saying, “No, I don’t have a boyfriend,” before the exchange took its controversial turn.
