Facebook Punishes Black Folks Who Share Experiences with Racism and White Supremacy [VIDEO]

*Facebook has a message for Black folks who post about their experiences with racism or call out white privilege — your account will be suspended.

Numerous Black activists and users of the social media platform have told USA Today that when they write “white people” in a Facebook post, it gets flagged, leading to an account suspension.

The publication cites numerous examples to back up these claims, including:

“Mary Canty Merrill had her post removed and account suspended after she wrote about racism, beginning the post with “Dear white people.” As an experiment, she had her white friends post the same content on their pages and had others “report” those posts. Most of their content was allowed to remain, and none had their accounts suspended.”

“In 2017, Facebook suspended the account of author and activist Ijeoma Oluo after she shared screenshots of the hate messages she received after making a joke about having to enter a cafe with mainly white people, according to Tech Crunch.”

“Facebook also removed a video posted by Ayo Henry of her having words with a white kid who hurled racial slurs at her. The clip received 2 million views.”

Meanwhile, Facebook doesn’t take the same action against those who attack folks of color. Racially-charged videos and messages against non-whites are allowed to thrive on Facebook.

And the company doesn’t treat their Black employees any better.

A former employee recently said Facebook treats Black employees quite hostile and often describes them as “aggressive” for expressing their opinions.
