*On April 7, the estate of Tupac Shakur will unveil Powamekka Café, an original restaurant concept that the West Coast legend dreamed of one day constructing before his untimely death in 1996.

From April 7 to April 9, Powamekka Café will take over New York’s Lower East Side restaurant Sweet Chick and transform into Tupac’s dream establishment, reports Billboard. Displaying photos of his childhood to his endless poetry and music memorabilia, fans will be able to soak in the nostalgia ignited by his illustrious career.

Shakur’s favorite meals will fill the menu, including meatloaf, gumbo, and his cousin Jamala’s fried chicken wings.

Shakur conceptualized the restaurant within three handwritten pages in his notebook, hoping to create a space where people would be able to “escape the worldz cold reality.”

Tom Whalley, trustee of The Estate of Tupac Shakur, said in a press release, “Tupac’s creative vision was limitless. He was constantly working on ideas and plans that reached far beyond music and film. One of the things he was extremely passionate about was opening a restaurant; he even sketched out plans and a concept for a menu. We are proud to bring Tupac’s Powamekka Café to life.”

In addition to the restaurant, his estate will also release an exclusive limited edition merchandise and apparel through a collaboration with Bravado, Universal Music Group’s merchandise and brand management company.

The Powamekka Café will be located at 178 Ludlow St, New York 10002.
