*A disturbing incident aboard an Alaska Airlines flight was caught on video, showing a chaotic struggle between a male passenger and a flight attendant.
The video, which surfaced on social media, captured the passenger aggressively grabbing the hair of a woman seated in front of him while others on board frantically urged him to let go. Despite repeated attempts to free the woman, the flight attendant resorted to striking the man until he finally released his grip. As the disruptive passenger continued to display erratic behavior, the flight attendant secured him in his seat and requested assistance from other passengers, Too Fab reports.
According to the person who uploaded the video, the violence erupted as the plane was about to take off from Oakland. In a series of posts, the X user said the unruly passenger “started saying weird stuff and rocking back and forth,” and that the man grabbed the hair of the woman “in front of him and wouldn’t let go so the flight attendant started punching him in the throat.”
After being restrained for several minutes, the passenger was taken into custody when law enforcement arrived. The flight was ultimately canceled because a crew member refused to continue working, according to the witness who shared the video.

According to The Daily Mail, a commenter who claims to be the woman in the video reacted to the clip, writing, “The man was having a psychotic episode, banged his head multiple times on the back of my seat, shortly lost consciousness, regained consciousness and grabbed my hair close to the scalp.”
“Had I leaned forward with him grabbing my hair, he could have pulled my hair out,” she continued. “I was afraid this man was going to punch me in the head and I am thankful for the FA and other passengers who stepped in to help.”
Alaska Airlines commended the flight attendant’s quick response, the New York Post, reports.
“He appeared to be experiencing a violent medical episode that involved an ongoing physical assault against other passengers and our crew,” the airline said in a statement.
“Our flight attendants’ highest responsibility is the safety of guests and crew on board,” the airline continued. “Our crew responded to this chaotic situation quickly and kept all guests safe until law enforcement could intervene.”
