Butthurt is He? Trump Whines/Complains About Obamas’ DNC Jabs – He ‘Can Dish It, but CAN’T Take It’ | WATCH

YouTube video

*See, he just can’t handle the TRUTH! Donald Trump reacted strongly to the recent criticisms made by Barack and Michelle Obama during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Tuesday night. Trump’s temper flared following the mockery aimed at him by the nation’s first Black president and first lady, underscoring his inability to handle criticism as deftly as he delivers it.

During the DNC, Barack Obama addressed what he described as Trump’s “stream of gripes and grievances,” while ridiculing his “weird obsession with crowd sizes.” Not to be outdone, Michelle Obama took a swipe at Trump’s previous comments to the National Association of Black Journalists, humorously suggesting someone should remind him that “the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those Black jobs.”

Feeling the sting of these remarks, Trump responded a day later at a rally in Asheboro, North Carolina. “Did you see Barack Hussein Obama last night?” he asked his supporters.

“Taking little shots, he was taking shots at your president. And so is Michelle.” Trump went on to lament how his adversaries were getting personal, despite urging him to stick to policy: “They always say, sure, please stick to policy, don’t get personal. And yet they’re getting personal all night long, these people. Do I still have to stick to policy?”

Trump’s irritation also comes amid increasing criticism from within his own party and campaign members who argue that he needs to stay focused, especially given burgeoning concerns about his capability to lead at 78 years of age.

This response unfolded during a national security speech where Trump diverted from his message, engaging in a “free poll” from his supporters about whether he should engage in personal attacks. David Axelrod, a chief strategist for Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, commented on Trump’s strategy, telling The Guardian on Wednesday that Trump appears to be struggling to land effective insults against Kamala Harris. Axelrod described Trump’s approach as scattershot: “He’s a jazz man when it comes to all of this and he gets in front of a crowd and he tries to find the groove and he throws everything against the wall,” Axelrod said. “It’s generally bile, it’s personal and it’s negative. But he’s just trying out themes.”

Trump’s predisposition for derogatory nicknames was evident once again during his North Carolina rally. In his speech, he referred to Kamala Harris as “Comrade Kamala Harris,” justifying the name by saying, “I think her name will be Comrade because I think that’s the most accurate name. You know I’ve been looking for a name. I really didn’t find one with her.”

The former president’s emotional response to the Obamas’ jabs highlights a pattern of behavior many have observed: while Trump can effortlessly dole out insults, criticism directed at him often provokes an indignant and petulant backlash. As the campaign season progresses, Trump’s ability to focus on substantive issues over personal vendettas will be closely scrutinized by both his supporters and critics.
