*“Koffee Brown is back,” said Vee (Vernell Sales) about the infamous duo Koffee Brown (“After Party”) who returns with a new partner. “…and Ryan (Lane) is a new member.”
The duo relaunched Koffee Brown with Ryan in 2023. They are currently promoting their single “About It.” Koffee Brown hit the top of the charts with their debut single “After Party” in 2001, at a time when Alicia Keys, Usher, and Aaliyah dominated the charts.
Fonz (Falonte Moore) was Vee’s original partner. He appears on the Koffee Brown single “After Party” as well as appears in the music video. Koffee Brown is attempting to capture that after-party vibe with the new single “About It” and I think they have accomplished it.
“It is a party song,” Ryan pointed out when I mentioned its ‘after party” vibe.
Ryan’s credits include performing with Wyclef Jean and Queen Latifah; television appearances with Shaggy; performing at the Met-Life Stadium, and touring with Sluggaz on The Fridayz Live Tour in Australia and New Zealand.

“The only difference (in Koffee Brown with Ryan’s vocals) is it more fresher,” Vee told me when I asked. “It has the same sound…same feel. Ryan brought incredible harmony and arrangement. He can go all day with 17 different harmonies, and he is great with imagery.”
I asked Ryan about stepping into a famous duo like Koffee Brown and he said, “I have always been a fan of their song (“After Party”)…and the music video, I felt like I wanted to be there! That settled the deal for me.”
And as they say, “The rest is history.” @KoffeeBrownMusic (Instagram)
