EUR Video News: Former Baltimore Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby Found Guilty of Mortgage Fraud | WATCH

*Former Baltimore top prosecutor Marilyn Mosby‘s lengthy trial has concluded, resulting in a mixed verdict. On Tuesday (02-06-24), the jury found her guilty of one count of mortgage fraud but acquitted her of a second mortgage fraud charge, as reported by The Baltimore Sun.

It is worth noting that she had previously been convicted of two counts of perjury in a separate trial in November. As of this posting, she has yet to be sentenced in either case.

The federal charges against Mosby revolved around allegations that she fraudulently obtained money from her retirement account by falsely claiming a pandemic-related hardship, which she then used as down payments for properties in Florida. Prosecutors maintained that she had repeatedly lied on the mortgage applications.  During the trial, Marilyn Mosby testified that she had unknowingly made false statements on the loan applications for two vacation homes in Florida.
