*A TikTok star went on a drastic weight loss diet of only McDonald’s for 100 days and he lost nearly 60 pounds!

Kevin Maginnis, 56, documented his weight loss challenge on his TikTok account, where he is known as @bigmaccoaching. As PEOPLE reports, Maginnis announced in February that he was limiting his food intake to nothing but greasy-processed Mcdonald’s.

Maginnis started at 238 lbs and is now below 180. He apparently ate half portions of the menu items and dropped nearly 30 lbs. in a little over a month. According to Today.com, he also lowered his cholesterol significantly. In total, he shed a total of 58½ lbs. — down to 179½.

“I feel amazing,” he said while appearing on the Today show to discuss his weight loss challenge.

Maginnis said he ordered three McDonald’s meals a day but only consumed half of each item and saved the rest of the next meal.

“Pick a number, I’ve eaten everything from Big Macs to quarter pounders — with fries,” he said on Today, “Don’t get bitter while I’m eating my apple fritter and losing weight!”

Maginnis replaced the soda with water and did not consume alcohol, fruit, or snacks during the diet challenge.

As PEOPLE reports, “Kevin said his triglycerides were down 205 points and his cholesterol 65 points. His A1C levels also dropped,” the outlet writes.

He also didn’t do much exercise during the challenge.

“Can eating a quarter pounder with cheese improve my A!C? Looks like it can because I was pre-diabetic before, down to healthy ranges now,” he shared.

Maginnis said his weight loss approach can be applied “with any food.”

“You could do this with any food. Stop vilifying the food,” Maginnis said on Today, PEOPLE reports. “It’s not that ‘good food, bad food’ for weight loss. Are there better macronutrients and micronutrients for brain health or whatever? Absolutely. But when it comes to getting rid of obesity, reduce the size of the meals. Three meals, cut in half — it’s not the only way, it’s a way. Portion control, have a plan, and have some accountability.”

Maginnis is so confident that his unique diet provides health benefits that he convinced his wife of 32 years to join him for the last 60 days of the challenge. According to Today, she is down 17 lbs.

Maginnis completed the challenge on June 1.
