*Lauryn Hill stopped her performance to get her band’s mind right after they weren’t playing the right notes or chords. However, people on social media in the comment section kept referring to legendary pianist Robert Glasper‘s interview with The Madd Hatta Morning Show on 97.9 The Box. “She will go on tour with a band and in the city that they’re doing a show, she’ll hold auditions for her band,” recalled Robert. Fans of L-Boogie believe her shows would be better if she rehearsed more with her band and kept the same employees.

Holy Roller, Kirk Franklin almost had to call Jesus on the mainline after he peeped the attire of Austyn Tribbett, the daughter of Grammy-winning gospel artist Tye Tribbett. Kirk jokingly pointed out that Baptists dress like Austyn. One person came to the 21-year-old defense, “Austyn looks good; it’s age-appropriate, as long as she’s not out trying to impress nobody, around family, and covered by the blood. She’s fine.” Tye also sided with his daughter, writing his caption, “Ayy‼️😂 My brother @kirkfranklin came to my room in FULL uncle mode concerned but I don’t play about my daughter @austyn.tayy lol between God, her mother and me — she’s COVERED💪🏿😮‍💨.” Glory! (Lifts up praise hands). Tye and Kirk are currently touring with David and Tamala Mann, Israel Houghton and The Clark Sisters.

Fantasia Taylor graced Variety magazine’s Power of Women issue and spoke about how she grew up watching the women in her life fight against adversity: “I grew up watching fighters,” Barrino says after settling into a corner booth. She’s not talking about boxers or brawlers. She’s describing the women in her life, specifically her mother, Diane Barrino, and her late grandmother, Apostle Addie Collins. “I watched them fall and I watched them get back up,” she explains. “They never quit. A lot of that is embedded in me. It’s in my blood. It’s in my DNA.” It’s been nearly 20 years since Barrino was crowned the “American Idol,” winning the third season of the singing competition in 2004 and becoming the first Black woman to claim the title. Suddenly she was a role model to a generation of Black girls who saw themselves in her. When she first appeared on the show, though, she was just Tasia, a 19-year-old single mom. “Didn’t know nothing about nothing, other than I loved to sing,” Barrino says. “I didn’t know all the things that came with it, the pros and the cons.” Fantasia stars in the anticipated “The Color Purple” musical due in theaters December 25.

Marcus Scribner and Cliff “Method Man” Smith star in “How I Learned to Fly,” dropping in theaters December 1st. The film centers around “two African-American teenage brothers who suddenly find themselves on their own after being mysteriously abandoned by their parents. Deeply haunted by the mental and physical abuse inflicted by their father (Wu-Tang Clan’s Cliff “Method Man” Smith), elder brother Daniel (Scribner) is determined to keep their lives from falling apart. He maintains a daily routine, works as a dishwasher, and does his best to keep a roof over their heads,” according to film critic Wilson Morales. Watch the trailer below.

@djgeorge13 One of my favorite 90s artist! She sounded good for just getting over voice issues. She was about 2 hrs late and shoudve rehearsed with her band more. #laurynhill #fugees #oakland #controversy #fypシ ♬ Doo Wop That Thing – Lauryn Hill
