*Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS is now the official underwear for the NBA, WNBA, and USA Basketball.
“Together, SKIMS and the NBA will connect people of all backgrounds through fashion, sport, and talent, and I look forward to seeing the partnership thrive,” Kardashian said in a statement this week, Complex reports.
“We look forward to bringing NBA fans and SKIMS users unique experiences, new offerings, and premium products through our partnership,” said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
The new partnership follows the recent launch of SKIMS Mens. Kardashian founded the SKIMS brand in 2019 with Jens Grede. The company was valued at $4 billion as of July this year.
We previously reported that after Kardashian announced plans to launch a line of shapewear called Kimono, she was accused of cultural appropriation by folks critical of the naming choice.

When appearing on the “Today” show in 2019, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star promoted the new collection and explained why she renamed the brand SKIMS.
“We ran [Kimono] by retailers, a bunch of people that we respected. Everyone seemed to really like the name,” Kardashian said during the interview. “As soon as it came out, there was so much backlash and I didn’t respond immediately. I waited a good day to see how I felt about it.”
The mother of four went on to explain that she asked several friends for advice before ultimately deciding to rename the line to SKIMS.
