Dame Dash & Aaliyah – R Kelly, Jay Z & Dame Dash

*It’s Hot, Hot, Hot!!! No, not just the weather, we talkin’ EUR’s Social Heat – Jay Z’s ex-business podna, Dame Dash opened up about his relationship with the late legendary singer/actress Aaliyah as well as the R. Kelly situation. First and foremost, Dash made it clear that he firmly believes Kelly is right where he should be (in prison) for grooming Aaliyah and knows firsthand what he did to her. Dash spoke on his disappointment in Jay-Z for collaborating with Kelly despite being aware of the abuse. Dash also revealed that Aaliyah herself had asked Jigga to “leave it alone.” Currently, in lockdown on a 30-year sentence for child sex crimes, racketeering, and sex trafficking, Kelly’s actions finally caught up with him. “I think he’s where he belongs,” Dame Dash told the “That’s F***ed Up” podcast. “I know Aaliyah, so I know what he did, I can’t be objective about that, you know what I’m saying? But he definitely seemed like he needed some help.”

Whoopi Goldberg and her co-hosts on “The View” want you to know their thoughts on Jason Aldean and his viral song, “Try That in a Small Town.” They’re not feeling the Country singer and call his track “deplorable.” As we‘ve posted here on EURweb, Aldean is under fire in the wake of social media calling him out over the release of his song and music video, where he seemingly takes shots at Black Lives Matter protestors. The video was released on July 14 and was pulled from rotation on CMT amid accusations of being racist. In the song, the singer says, “Cuss out a cop, spit in his face / Stomp on the flag and light it up / Yeah, ya think you’re tough / Try that in a small town.” He then continued to sing on the chorus, “See how far ya make it down the road / Around here, we take care of our own / You cross that line / It won’t take long / For you to find out, I recommend you don’t / Try that in a small town.” After receiving backlash, Aldean released a statement, in part saying, “There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it, and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage; and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music, this one goes too far.” Yesterday (July 20), Goldberg led a conversation on ‘The View’ and said, “He talks about life in a small town, and it’s different, and he chose these images. He’s got folks from the Black Lives Matter movement, and he’s talking about people taking care of each other, and I find it so interesting that it never occurred to Jason or the writers that that’s what these folks were doing: They were taking care of the people in their town because they didn’t like what they saw. You just have to realize that when you make it about Black Lives Matter, people kind of say, ‘Well, are you talking about Black people? What are you talking about here?'”

Yaqub Salik Talib, the brother of retired NFL cornerback Aqib Talib has pleaded guilty to a senseless murder. In 2022, Yaqub pulled out a gun and repeatedly shot 43-year-old Michael Hickmon during a brawl among adults at a youth football game in the Dallas suburb of Lancaster. Both of the Talib brothers’ sons played on one of the teams, and Hickmon’s son played on the other. Yaqub Talib, 40, pleaded guilty on Thursday (07-20-23) to the murder charge in the shooting and agreed to a sentence of 37 years in prison.
