Da Brat is PREGNANT at 48! – ‘It’s Been Quite a Journey’ | PicsVideo

*There’s really good news for Da Brat and her wife Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart. They are expecting a baby!  What’s really interesting, other than they’re both females, is that Da Brat is pregnant at age 48. The big news was shared first by People.

“It’s been quite a journey,” says Da Brat, who admits that at her age, “there’s a lot of stuff we learned about women over the age of 40.”

Harris-Dupart, who heads Kaleidoscope Hair Products explained they ended up on the road to motherhood because of a marketing tagline they came up that was inspired by Da Brat and her Iconic braids.

“It started as a joke, we were like, ‘We’re extending our family!'” Harris-Dupart, 41, says of the tongue-in-cheek marketing tagline for their collaboration.

She added: “But then we got a huge response. It was like, ‘Oh my God do we want to actually have kids, and if we do, girl, we better hurry up!'”

Da Brat and Judy made the big reveal Tuesday, introducing Brat’s baby bump in a shoot with photographer Derek Blanks … with a gangsta motif to play into Brat’s rapper exterior.

Da Brat knows there are some possible risks of being pregnant at her age, adding, “there’s a lot of stuff we learned about women over the age of 40.”

Brat and Judy already share Judy’s three children together — and the rapper had to overcome a few hurdles — an embryo transfer that required surgery to remove fibroids and polyps from her body.
