Chlöe Bailey Shares Why She Cried During ‘Swarm’ Filming | EUR Video Exclusive

*We caught up with actress Chloe Bailey to dish on her thrilling new role in Prime Video’s horror series “Swarm.” The 24-year-old plays Marissa, Dre’s (Dominique Fishback) sister who is on a mission.

“This isn’t a story about fandom. This is a story about Dre being on a mental health journey,” expressed Bailey.  “She has some poor vices.”

While taping the final scenes the actress became impassioned.

“I cried when I taped the last episode. It was very emotional – you see their bond, love for music, and how it brought them together. Dre used that to feel connected to her sister. Marissa is Dre’s lifeline. Dre is Marissa’s lifeline. They are very codependent. Their love exceeds all boundaries. They’re both broken. There’s a lot of trauma that hasn’t been healed on both of their sides. Front-facing Marissa seems like the strongest and most positive one. On the surface she seems like she has it all together. But when it gets revealed to the audience she doesn’t…that’s when you see the intimate scene where Dre kisses the wounds on her arm. That’s when people will realize Marissa is actually broken,” explained the songstress.

Co-creator and executive producer Janine Nabers told production the series is not specifically targeting Beyonce’s rabid fanbase known as the Beyhive.

“Obviously all of these people are public figures and legally, you can’t use the real footage,” Nabers explained. “So we made the footage [ourselves] and they’re a lot of fun. We were able to re-create every single moment within that time span. When we sat down to look at that period in history, it really was about the feeling those moments gave you. Everyone remembers where they were when the elevator moment happened. It’s undeniable that there are moments with musicians that shift culture.”

The creative team behind the series recreated several unforgettable Beyoncé moments for this series, including the infamous elevator encounter between Bey’s husband, rapper JAY-Z, and her younger sister Solange.
