*Charlie Wilson’s rep says the singer is “in amazing spirits and health” following reports that he is not doing well following back surgery.

“Charlie is releasing a new single on December 8th and receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on his 71st birthday, January 29, 2024,” the rep shared with EUR. “We recently attended his Hollywood Bowl show where he sang and danced like artists half his age for hours.”

The rep said a recent tweet from DJ Hollygrove claiming Wilson is hospitalized and “not doing well” is “absolutely incorrect.”

Wilson, a 13x Grammy-nominated artist, kicked off Black Music Month this year with an NPR Tiny Desk Concert!

EUR’s Cherie Saunders reported that “the Oklahoma native ran through the peaks and valleys of his journey thus far, from his start with The Gap Band in the 70s and 80s alongside his brothers Robert and Ronnie, through his reemergence in the 90s through hip hop artists like Snoop Dogg, who gave him the nickname Uncle Charlie.”

During the set, “Wilson ran through six of his biggest hits, as well as the 1985 Zapp classic, “Computer Love,” telling the crowd that he didn’t think many fans knew that he was featured on the song.”

Wilson has collaborated with many chart-topping artists, including Bruno Mars, Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Tyler The Creator and Nas, to name a few.

Last year, he kicked off “the critically acclaimed The Culture Tour with New Edition and Jodeci. He has previously sold out two headlining arena tours- Forever Charlie (2015), In It To Win It (2017) – and toured with Bruno Mars on his 24K Magic tour,” per the news release.

Wilson “was twice named Billboard’s Top Adult Male R&B Artist (2009, 2020) and named Billboard’s Top Adult R&B Male Artist with the most #1s,” the release states.
