*Billy Porter is speaking out about his memorable red-carpet moment at the 2019 Oscars when he wore a Christian Siriano velvet tuxedo gown.

The “Pose” actor told Page Six that the outfit had a lasting impact on the fashion industry, claiming he “changed the world.”

“Men feel freer since then and I love being a part of that,” the actor/singer said.

“What the world thinks is the most memorable is the Oscar dress, the tuxedo Oscar dress that changed the world,” he told Page Six at the unveiling of his Madame Tussauds’ wax figure at New York City’s Boom at the Top of The Standard hotel.

“That’s the most significant one because of the impact it’s had on the entire world,” Porter continued. “Fashion has changed since then. Men feel freer since then and I love being a part of that.”

As Page Six points put, celebrities such as Harry Styles and Lil Nas X began wearing gender-fluid clothing as a result of the daring look.

“Everything that I do is based on the assignment and how I feel,” Porter told Page Six. “The fact that it feels daring is other people stuff, I show up and do what I want, what I feel, what makes me happy.

“I’m always daring, I guess, to some other people because there’s so much fear connected to it and I hope that having presence enough to not be afraid of what other people think and use that in my art can be freeing for some people, I hope,” he continued. “Because it’s definitely freeing for me.”

Porter’s wax figure is his first-ever with Madame Tussauds and recreates his red carpet look from the 2020 Grammy Awards.

“I can’t believe I have my very own wax figure in Madame Tussauds New York. My likeness is immortalized forever,” said Porter, Broadway World reports. “To end Pride Month with a bang like this is so memorable.”

“We always look forward to celebrating Pride Month at Madame Tussauds, so it’s a treat to do so with the tremendously talented Billy Porter,” said Marketing Manager at Madame Tussauds New York, Eliza Rose. “We went all out with his figure’s ensemble – recreating his 2020 Grammy’s look with beautiful details and made with creative care. We can’t wait for everyone to see how amazing it looks!”
