*Big Daddy Kane nearly came to blows when UK rapper Kamanchi Sly stormed the stage while he was performing at a recent show.
Kane was the headliner for the Hip Hop 50 event at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on Saturday (August 26). During his set, Hijack member Kamanchi Sly strolled onto the stage wearing a mask and stood in front of the audience. Kane continued with his set for a few moments before the music stopped. Viral video footage shows him confronting the artist, telling Sly, “You’re doing too much playboy.”
“I need the stage, you’re doing too much,” the hip-hop icon continued, Hip Hop DX reports.
Kane’s security appears on stage to deal with Kamanchi Sly. After gently pushing Sly away, the rapper says something that prompts Kane to reply: “That ain’t my fuckin’ problem.”
At one point, Big Daddy Kane starts to remove his jacket for a fight with his antagonizer, but his crew members intervene and diffuse the situation. Watch the moment via the YouTube clip above.
As Hip Hop DX reports, Sly apparently had a problem with American acts being moved up the show’s roster in favor of his group.
One YouTuber who attended the concert wrote: “I heard they rolled up late and missed their spot. No one’s fault apart from Hijack. They got to the venue late and missed their spot. Kane was due to follow Masta Ace and that’s what he did. I heard Hijack missed the slot given to them before Masta Ace and then carried on like this. This is just what I heard.”
