*U.S. tickets to see Beyoncé are so expensive that some fans are traveling to Europe instead.
Recently, Ticketmaster has been involved in controversies that have drawn attention to the challenges of the domestic ticketing process. NBC News reports. As concert ticket prices rise in the U.S., seeing Beyoncé in Europe is better for some. In the past month, users of TikTok have made Bey fans aware of potential savings by buying international tickets.
“Fan demand already exceeds the number of tickets available by more than 800% based on the registration numbers in the Group A cities,” reads the online post from Ticketmaster earlier this year after the Bey’s Renaissance Tour was announced. “It is expected that many interested fans may not be able to get tickets because demand drastically exceeds supply.”
Ticketmaster shared a blog post with details about the Renaissance ticket sale process. In part, it explains: “Demand for this tour is expected to be high. If there is more demand than there are tickets available, a lottery-style selection process will determine which registered Verified Fans get a unique access code and which are placed on the waitlist. A Verified Fan access code does not guarantee tickets, it just gives you access to join the sale. All tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis. If tickets remain, the lottery-style process will be used to invite more Verified Fans from the waitlist to join the sale.”

Meanwhile, after Ticketmaster botched Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” ticket rollout, many fans voiced on social media that they have no desire to rely on Ticketmaster in the U.S. to purchase Renaissance Tour tickets.
Queen Bey will kick off the Renaissance World Tour 2023 in Europe in May before wrapping up in America in the fall. The busy mother of three has not been on the road since 2018’s On the Run with her husband Jay-Z.
