*Akon will kick off “The Superfan Tour” this fall in the U.S., where he’ll be playing all of the fan favorites from the past 20 years, according to a news release.
Produced by Live Nation, the 15-city tour kicks off on November 2, in Atlanta at Tabernacle, making stops in Nashville, Boston, New York, Toronto, Chicago, Detroit, and more before wrapping at the House of Blues in Dallas on December 10.
The musician and businessman “boasts a global presence with over 35 million albums sold, five Grammy nominations, 45 Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers, and over 300 guest appearances alongside icons like Michael Jackson, David Guetta, Gwen Stefani, Lil’ Wayne, and Eminem,” per the news release.
Akon has earned a slew of music awards, and his “legacy is etched in history with a Guinness World Record as the #1 selling artist for master ringtones and the unique feat of commanding the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously,” the news release states.
We reported previously via zenger.news that Uganda‘s government unveiled a plan in 2021 to allocate land to the American-Senegalese artist to construct a futuristic city dubbed Akon City.
Akon City is expected to be powered by a cryptocurrency called the Akoin, and be completed by 2036.
According to the press release, tickets for his upcoming North American tour will be available starting with a presale beginning Wednesday, September 13 at 10 AM local time. Additional pre-sales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on sale beginning Friday, September 15 at 10 AM local time at AKON.com.
