*Tina Turner paid tribute to her son Ronnie in a sweet social media post following his passing from colon cancer complications.

“Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son,” the music icon captioned a selfie photo on Instagram of her eyes shut.

Page Six reports that Ronnie also suffered from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease at the time of his death, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office. Per the Mayo Clinic, “Arteriosclerosis occurs when the blood vessels that carry oxygen and nutrients from the heart to the rest of the body (arteries) become thick and stiff — sometimes restricting blood flow to the organs and tissues.”

Ronnie’s wife of 17 years, Afida, took to her Instagram last week to confirm that he died on Dec. 8 at age 62.
