Raphael Warnock WINS – Defeats Herschel Walker for Georgia Senate Seat

*Well, it’s a done deal. Democratic US Senator Raphael Warnock of Georgia took on Republican challenger and former NFL star Herschel Walker and has been pronounced the winner in Tuesday’s runoff election for the Senate.

With the win, Warnock, 53, has locked down a full six-year term after winning a special election in January 2021. His win Tuesday night (12-06-22) over Walker, 60, will expand the Dems’ control of the Senate 51-49.

When the race was called by NBC, with 94% of the vote counted, Warnock held a razor-thin 50.4% to 49.6% lead.

Warnock had won a partial Senate term in January 2021 when he defeated Sen. Kelly Loeffer, who had been appointed to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of ailing then-Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson at the end of 2019.
