*It seems singer Akon is quite comfortable with KanYe West‘s love for Hitler and Nazis. Nope, he has zero problems with the offensive words that came out of Ye’s mouth because … they aren’t about him.
Yep, that’s how Akon sees it. At least that’s what he told Sky News when he sat for an interview with the British news network. It seems his bottom line is he supports Ye’s right to speak his mind and say whatever he wants, regardless of how it affects society in general and not him in particular.
While Akon says he would make sure to give KW his own POV against Ye’s argument about liking Hitler — in a debate, it seems — he still doesn’t like the idea of shutting the dude down and smothering out his speech just because what he’s saying is objectionable to some.
When her line of questioning couldn’t get Akon to say anything “negative” about West, she asked if it troubles him that Kanye makes objectively horrid comments, period? Akon didn’t change course and replied, “Not really, because those comments don’t really affect me personally.”
In other words, Akon could care less what Ye is spouting as long as his name ain’t a part of it. And, with that in mind, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that if it wasn’t KanYe, he’s Twitter’s public enemy number one.
“I clearly do not agree with Kanye’s remarks about Hitler. I am simply saying that everyone should have the right to their own opinion. Doesn’t mean we will always agree, “Akon posted as his defense.
