*On “The Talk,” Allen Media Group CEO and media mogul Bryon Allen is asked if he’s ‘making a run for the Washington Commanders?’
Allen reveals, “Absolutely. You know, listen, the league, the players in the league are 75-80% black and it’s a league that’s over 100 years old. We’ve never had a black owner, and this is something that I’m very focused on and it’s long overdue. We can’t just play the game, we have to own the game.”
Allen also discusses his upcoming special Byron Allen Presents theGrio Awards and his inspiration behind the show airing on CBS. “I just wanted to celebrate excellence that happens in Black America,” says Allen.
“We’ve got Tyler Perry accepting theGrio Icon Award…we gave the great Patti LaBelle theGrio Icon Music award, Queen Latifah received theGrio Television Icon Award, Dave Chapelle received the Cultural Icon Award, Keenan Thompson received the Comedy Icon Award. And we gave theGrio Trailblazer award to the youngest winner of EGOT, Jennifer Hudson.” He adds, “There are so many surprises. You’re going to love it.”
