*A New Jersey corrections officer who participated in a counter-protest reenacting the death of George Floyd was suspended Tuesday and banned from the NJDOC facilities pending further review after videos of the incident went viral.
In the 9-second clip, a group of peaceful protesters march by with a police escort, while a man across the road re-enacts the knee-on-the-neck murder of Floyd on May 27 by a white police officer. A row of pickup trucks hoisting American flags and one supporting a Trump banner are seen in the background.
The man with his knee on his friend’s neck begins to shout at the protesters: “This is what happens…comply with the cops.. comply with the cops… this is what happens!”
Governor Phil Murphy condemned the act.
