*Family members and friends of Dayvon “DayDay” Taylor gathered in Inglewood on Saturday to lay to rest the 6-year-old South Los Angeles boy who was allegedly beaten to death by a man described as an elementary school coach last month.
Taylor, who was a first-grade student at Normandie Elementary school, was allegedly beaten to death by Tyler D’Shaun Martin-Brand, an LAUSD employee, who worked at an after school program at Normandie.
Authorities are searching for parents whose children may have come in contact with Martin-Brand and want to meet with the principal on Normandie Elementary to ascertain why school employees are interacting with students outside the workplace.
According to police Dayvon was beat to death the day after Christmas allegedly by Martin-Brand, who is currently being held in Los Angeles County jail on a $2 million dollar bail.
