Minnesota Police Respond to Viral Clip Showing Arrest of ‘FBI Agent’ [VIDEO]

*A year-old video clip showing a Black FBI agent being arrested by two white cops has gone viral amid protests over the death of George Floyd

 As it turns out, the man is not an FBI agent, but he’s certainly being racially profiled. 

In the clip, the man is trying to enjoy a cigarette but ends up in the cuffs of Minnesota police officers after they accuse him of looking like some other suspect. 

“?Somethin’ been telling me to hold on to this video over a year now, ok,” the man in the video shared on Instagram, TooFab reports.  “‘Some days we make it home or some days we make it 6 feet deep.’ Imagine getting killed at home, while jogging, playing, minding your own business or just damn breathing? #BeingBlackInWhiteAmerica!!”

He added, “This incident happened a year ago. The Minnesota police department been corrupt. Can’t even smoke a damn cigarette in peace.”

Minnesota Police handcuff 'FBI Agent'

In the footage, the man accuses the two officers of “racially profiling me” after they demand that he stand up and be cuffed. 

“You’re you’re assuming I’m someone I’m not,” he says. “You guys are harassing me. You got the wrong guy.”

But the officer are not trying to hear it and they place him in cuffs, while ordering him to stop resisting.

“As a matter of fact, take a look at my ID,” the man says. “You guys are stupid motherf–kers.”

The officers then decide to look at his wallet, and while the man the never identifies himself as an FBI agent in the video (or on social media), they quickly remove he cuffs after seeing his ID. Many online users assumed he either working undercover or an FBI agent.

“We’re allowed talk to someone,” the senior officer tries to explain to the man. “And he made a mistake and once he figured out he unhandcuffed you.”

“So you guys can make a mistake and be like ‘oh whoops’… somebody could have got killed right now… until it happens that’s when you guys try to take some responsibility?” he asks.

“Nobody got hurt,” the officer replies. 

After social media users spread the tale that the man is FBI, the Rochester (MN) Police Department confirmed to Reuters that, “Contrary to social media rumors, the individual was not a Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) agent.” The department said: “During the brief detention, identification was located showing he was not the individual the officers knew had a warrant.  The individual was immediately released.“

Rochester Police also noted that the incident occurred June 1, 2019.
