*Former NBA player Kenny Smith walked off the set of Wednesday’s NBA on TNT broadcast in support of the league-wide protest over the shooting of Jacob Blake.
Smith said as he unplugged his microphone, “For me, I think the biggest thing now … as a Black man, as a former player, I think it’s best for me to support the players and just not be here tonight.”
As colleagues Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley watched in stunned silence, Johnson responded, “I respect that,” as Smith left the studio.
