*Judge Faith Jenkins and singer Kenny Lattimore tied the knot in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 8.
Last fall, it was revealed that the R&B crooner, 49, was engaged to the 42-year-old TV personality.
Lattimore even opened up about his excitement over the engagement while appearing on Fox Soul’s The Tammi Mac Show. He also shared what he would do differently in his second marriage. You may recall, he married singer Chante Moore in 2011 and they announced their divorce in 2011. The former couple share 16-year-old son, Kenny Lattimore Jr.
“When I started out my relationship in my last marriage, I think I wanted everything to be perfect almost too much,” he told Tammi Mac, via MadameNoire. “I kind of walked on eggshells in the beginning and I just wanted her to be happy. In a similar manner that I want Faith to be happy, but the difference was, I don’t think I was always up front and honest. Maybe the fear was, if I really say what I’m thinking now, this is going to be over. And what I learned was no, bring the truth. Bring the truth and authenticity at every single stage.

“In addition to that, I needed to make sure while we were dating that I brought that truth,” he added. “We went to pre-engagement counseling. When you get engaged, you know what you want to do. You know, I want to be with this person. It’s a lot of pressure if you’re already engaged and you’re in pre-marital counseling. Who’s going to back out of that? But if you answer some of those hard questions before you even get to engagement — we went to a really great pastor and we started going through the process. He recommended some books for us to read and we would have these meetings and check-ins. You gotta ask questions like, how do you feel about kids again at this age? How do you feel about where you’re going to live in terms of city? How do you deal with family and involving family into your life? It’s so many little things that we take for granted and we think, ‘Oh, it’s going to work itself out because love’s going to conquer everything and it just doesn’t. But preparation does.”
Hollywood producer/pastor DeVon Franklin officiated Kenny and Faith’s wedding ceremony at First Congregational Church in downtown L.A., which was attended by 275 guests including Stevie Wonder, MC Lyte, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Grey’s Anatomy star James Pickens Jr. and author Malcolm Gladwell, Us Weekly reports.
Jenkins told the publication that she and her hubby met on a blind date through mutual friend, music producer Aaron Lindsey.
“The first time we met was for lunch and we talked for two hours,” Jenkins told Us. “I don’t know that there was a real spark at first but it was a genuinely interesting conversation. Kenny actually thought I wasn’t that interested because I didn’t per se flirt with him. It was lunch! I was just looking for good conversation and to enjoy my turkey club. The flirting would come later! Which it did.”
The judge realized, however, that there was something special about Kenny.
“Kenny was different from anyone I’ve ever met from the very beginning. I’ve known his music since college so I didn’t know what to expect when meeting someone who has been such an established artist for so long,” Jenkins gushed to Us. “But he showed a graciousness and humility that endeared me to him right away. I see him consistently treat every person he encounters like they are VIPs in his world and exudes a kindness that makes me believe in the best in others.”
