*Rep. Ilhan Omar announced in a Instagram post Wednesday evening that she’s a newly married woman!
The Minnesota Democrat has tied the knot with Washington political consultant Tim Mynett, NBC News reports. His company, E Street Group, has worked with Omar’s campaign.
“Got married! From partners in politics to life partners, so blessed. Alhamdulillah,” she wrote in the caption. “Alhamdulillah” translates to “Praise be to God.”
Omar and Mynett ‘s romance became public last August when Mynett’s then-wife, Beth Mynett filed for divorce.

We previously reported… according to the New York Post, Beth said her ex-husband confessed to her that he was having an affair with the Somali-born congresswoman.
“The parties physically separated on or about April 7, 2019, when Defendant told Plaintiff that he was romantically involved with and in love with another woman, Ilhan Omar,” the court docs stated. .
“Defendant met Rep. Omar while working for her. Although devastated by the betrayal and deceit that preceded his abrupt declaration, Plaintiff told Defendant that she loved him, and was willing to fight for the marriage,” the papers said. “Defendant, however, told her that was not an option for him’’ and moved out the next day.
Beth claimed Tim’s traveling and work hours may have been “more related to his affair with Omar than to his actual work commitments,” FOX 9 of Minneapolis-St. Paul reported.
The Mynetts’ split was finalized in December. Beth and Tim Mynett are parents of a teenage son.
Omar was previously married to Ahmed Hirsi, the father of their three children. Hirsi reportedly found a new girlfriend and remarried in Somalia just 37 days after his split from Omar.
He posted a photo of himself and a woman believed to be his new wife on Instagram in January.
“I look forward to this new chapter in my life and I ask you all to join me in celebration,” Hirsi captioned the photo — see below.
