*Google is getting a jump-start on celebrating Black History Month by rolling out a new ad that showcases a montage of the most searched people and moments, highlighted by Beyoncé’s Coachella appearance — the most-searched musical performance on the year.
“There are moments in American history that captivate us all,” Google’s ad proclaims — you can watch it in its entirety below.
As it turns out, “Black folks are the most searched in history when it comes to music, performances and culture,” The YBF writes.

The Search company dropped their first Black History Month ad during the Grammys this week, and Google said about the ad:
This Black History Month, we’re celebrating some of #TheMostSearched moments and individuals in America. To find them, we used U.S.-based Google Trends Data to identify Black American achievements that were searched more than any others between January 1, 2004 – when U.S. Search Data first became available – and July 1, 2019. Here’s to the history makers and all those they continue to inspire.

The title of “most searched” was given to each person, group or cause that had been searched for more often than any other in the category, per Google Trends, since Jan. 1, 2004, which Google says is the farthest back its U.S. search data can go.
Oprah Winfrey, for example, was the most searched talk show host name over the 15-year period, while Prince is shown in the ad as “most searched guitar solo,”
The Civil Rights movement is widely represented across the project’s findings, with Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, the Greensboro sit-in, the Montgomery bus boycott and Malcolm X’s biography all ranked as top searches.
Meanwhile, Katherine Johnson of “Hidden Figures” fame is “The Most Searched” NASA mathematician.
