Egyptian Man on FBI’s Most Wanted List Captured 12 Years After Killing Teen Daughters [VIDEO]

*An  Egyptian-born, Dallas-area taxicab driver wanted for the 2008 murder of his two teenage daughters was arrested Wednesday in North Texas, the FBI said.

Yaser Abdel Said, 63, was finally apprehended this week after more than a decade on the run. Said is accused of killing his teenage daughters, Amina, 18, and Sarah, 17, in 2008.

He allegedly took the teens for a drive in his taxi cab on New Years Day and shot them inside the vehicle. Sarah was able to call for help before she died from her injuries.

Said had been evading capture ever since that tragic day. He was placed on the Most Wanted Fugitives List on December 4, 2014.

A family member told investigators that Said threatened “bodily harm″ against Sarah for going on a date with a non-Muslim, per CBS News.

Gail Gattrell, the sisters’ great-aunt, reportedly called the deaths an “honor killing.”

“The FBI-led Dallas Violent Crimes Task Force has worked tirelessly to find Yaser Abdel Said. These experienced investigators never gave up on their quest to find him and pledged to never forget the young victims in this case,” FBI Dallas Special Agent in Charge Matthew DeSarno said in a statement, per PEOPLE.

“Said was placed on the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List nearly six years ago for the heinous act he committed against his daughters,” DeSarno continued. “His capture and arrest bring us one step closer to justice for Amina and Sarah. We want to thank our partners at the Irving Police Department for working with us to apprehend this dangerous individual.”

Irving Police Chief Jeff Spivey said the department has “tirelessly pursued justice for Amina and Sarah” since 2008.

“Even after 12 years of frustration and dead ends, the pursuit for their killer never ceased,” Spivey said. “Today’s arrest of their father, Yaser Said brings us closer to ensuring justice is served on their behalf.”
