The first time I paid attention to a slogan for the year was in 1965. There were various ones like “Best Alive in ‘65’,” or “‘65’ and I’ve arrived.” When they were promoting seat belts, there was even “Bring ’em back alive in 1965.” For all the years since then, I have made it a point to try and come up with a new and meaningful slogan.
Students usually come up with a slogan for their graduation year well in advance. It’s their target year, so they’ve had three or four years to think about it. What I am proposing may not be new to them, but perhaps new to the rest of us.
During the Christmas season we often hear or read in a card “Peace on earth goodwill towards men.” We also hear or read “May you have a healthy and prosperous New Year!”
So, with that, I would like to propose: “2020 Good ‘n’ Plenty!” as a slogan to promote all year ‘round, goodwill (the good) and prosperity in health, wealth and all that we do according to God’s will and purpose for our lives (the plenty).
Happy New Year!
