Candace Owens Compares Black Rage Over Racism to a ‘Trained Chimpanzee’

*Candace Owens compared the reaction of Black people to white-on-black crime to that of a trained monkey.

The controversial conservative commentator made the not to shocking comments during a livestream on YouTube on Tuesday:

“If, to be black, you can’t speak in proper English, or you’re ‘acting white’, right?

To be black, you instantly have to jump up like a fucking trained chimpanzee – excuse my language – like a trained chimpanzee every single time the media runs a story, and act angry, and riot, and talk about how pained you were to see this happen to black people, but keep your mouth shut, right, when it happens black-on-black because if you talk about the black-on-black crime, you’re a race traitor, right?”

As noted by The Independent, folks quickly seized upon her use of “chimpanzee” to reference Black Americans, which has long been considered a racial slur. Peep some of their reactions via Twitter below.

Owens, a staunch Trump supporter, has been critical of how Black folks are responding to the public lynching of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

The tragedy occurred on Memorial Day, after officers attempted to arrest the 46-year-old on suspicion of forgery. A young woman on the scene filmed the incident, showing Floyd handcuffed and on the ground with Officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on the back of his neck, and pleading: “Please, I can’t breathe.”

Chauvin ignores Floyd, even after he appears to lose consciousness, keeping his knee on the victim’s neck for nearly five minutes.

“The officer stayed in position, with his body weight on Floyd’s neck, for four more minutes after Floyd stopped moving at all. At one point, the officer brandished pepper spray at bystanders who were pleading with police to stop,” wrote the ACLU on Twitter.”

Four police officers were fired Tuesday in connection with Floyd’s death and the FBI is conducting an investigation into the incident.

The governor has called in the National Guard to bring order to the city as demonstrators continue to protest the police handling of the case.
