*“Watchmen” star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II says his DMs have been blowing up ever since his character’s eye-popping penis reveal.
“I try to stay out of my DMs man,” he told reporters after landing at LAX on Monday, TooFab reports (see clipabove). “But for that reason it’s kind of crazy right now.” He added: “I’m not counting… but it’s jumping off right now.”
On Sunday night’s episode of the hit HBO series, fans learned some back history about how Dr. Manhattan became Cal Abar, and back again.

In one scene Dr. Manhattan — who is as famous for his big blue appendage as he is for his omnipotence — goes to visit Adrien Veidt (AKA Ozymandias AKA Jeremy Irons) in his Antarctic lair. The sub-freezing temperatures didn’t seem to bother him (like, in ANY way) as he strolled in completely naked, treating viewers to an eyeful of his unhooded justice.
“Honestly, you work hard, you get in shape and then… it’s fun!” the 33-year-old said of shooting the scene. “It was actually more liberating than anything else.”
“I went out there, I said ‘I’m young, if you’re gonna do it it’s not like you can be old, might as well do it while you’re young,’ you know what I mean? Have some fun with it.”
The actor also shrugged off the Golden Globes snub, as “Watchmen” received zero nominations.
“I think it’s dope to have people be passionate about your work,” he said. “Snubbed or not, people are still tuning in. The ratings are good, and we’re giving the viewers something to talk about, so more power to us, you know what I mean?”
The final episode of “Watchmen” airs Sunday on HBO.
