‘Unsung’ EXCLUSIVE CLIP: Shirley Murdock on How T.D. Jakes Helped Her Follow Her Dream [WATCH]

*TV One’s award-winning documentary series “UNSUNG” dives into the untold story of 80s soulful songbird Shirley Murdock this Sunday. This will surely be an episode for lovers of R&B and old school music!

Murdock, is best known for her breakout performance on Roger Troutman’s “Computer Love.” She’s had a successful career has span four decades with hits like “As We Lay,” which Kelly Price did a sample of years later.

“I’ve been in the music industry all of my life,” Murdock previously stated in an interview. “I really didn’t want to do R&B, just gospel music. Through the years I had many chances to do R&B, but I turned them down. I started out as a gospel singer. Gospel music back then is not what it is today. There are so many different styles of gospel today. I asked the Lord if I should go through this door and I just walked in by faith.”
