Stacey Dash Asks for Public Defender; Too Broke to Pay for Lawyer

*Stacey Dash, as you are well aware of, was arrested for domestic abuse which is bad enough, but now we’re learning that she’s also fallen on hard times, financially.

It seems the last gig she had was being a political analyst for Fox News. That dried up in 2017 after one too many stupid remarks about president Obama that even Fox couldn’t defend.

We all know her acting career died as well. So, it appears that whatever savings she may have had are also gone, so unfortunately for her, she is financially dependent on her husband, Jeffrey Marty.

That’s obviously a problem because the domestic abuse she’s accused of was directed at guess who? Yeah, her bread-winning husband, who is an attorney of all things.

The bottom line is that things are apparently so bad for the “Clueless” star that she has filed for indigent status and is asking for a public defender to represent her in court.

According to TMZ, a Florida judge signed off on Dash’s request after asking her to provide proof of her income.

In audio of a 911 call to the Pasco County Sheriff, Dash said that her husband and his three minor children conspired to have her arrested.

Dash, 52, was charged with domestic battery for scratching and slapping Marty’s face during an argument at their Pasco County condominium on Sunday.

Dash said she, Marty and his children – ages 15, 14 and 10 – were all arguing when she pushed his 15-year-old daughter. She accused Marty of putting her in a chokehold.

She said he advised his three children to lie to the police about the incident.

Marty, 44, can be heard in the background yelling, “I can’t believe you did this.”

When police arrived on the scene, Dash was arrested and booked into the county jail. She has since been released on a $500 bond.
