*Shortly after news broke that actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman were among the dozens of rich white folks charged in an alleged college admissions cheating scam, actor Rob Lowe hit up social media to throw a bit of shade while weighing in on the  scandal.

“Very proud of my honest, hardworking sons,” Rob tweeted in reply to his son John’s post about his own experience preparing for college.

“I studied for MONTHS for the SAT. Twice, sometimes three times a week. Tons of practice tests. Ended up taking the SAT multiple times as well. College apps were no joke… the amount of stress kids put into that to potentially lose a spot to someone unfairly is horrible,” John began, PEOPLE reports.

“And let me say: I’m incredibly grateful that I had the privilege and opportunity to have a tutor and to afford practice test programs. A lot of kids don’t. And to think of them losing their chance at their dream school to someone undeserving is really, really gross,” he continued.

John concluded by sharing a family photo at his graduation from Stanford University in 2018.

“Still proud of this achievement,” he wrote. “Happy for everyone out there who earned their accomplishments…and really sad for those who were never allowed the opportunity.”

As reported by PEOPLE, 50 people have been indicted as part of the nationwide scheme to get their average or low-performing children into universities such as Yale, Georgetown, the University of Southern California and Stanford.

“Dozens of individuals involved in a nationwide conspiracy that facilitated cheating on college entrance exams and the admission of students to elite universities as purported athletic recruits were arrested by federal agents in multiple states and charged in documents unsealed on March 12, 2019, in federal court in Boston,” according to federal court docs that were released Tuesday.

The scheme helped students gain acceptance to elite universities by helping them cheat on entrance exams.

Huffman allegedly gave $15,000 “to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her oldest daughter,” the indictment states.

Loughlin allegedly handed over half a million to have her non-athletic daughters designated as crew team recruits when they had never rowed.
