*Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary has Prosecutors in Chicago and Atlanta seeking information from any potential victims or witnesses of the alleged sexual and physical abuse by the R&B crooner.
Authorities in Chicago say that Kelly is not currently under investigation for sexual misconduct but the state’s attorney has made a plea to victims.
“Please come forward,” said Kimberly M. Foxx, the state’s attorney for Cook County, Ill., at a news conference in Chicago on Tuesday. “There’s nothing that can be done to investigate these allegations without the cooperation of both victims and witnesses. We cannot seek justice without you.”
As reported by The Blast, the district attorney’s office in Fulton County, Ga., reportedly began conducting interviews after the airing of the doc last week, according to the lawyer for a couple who say the singer is holding their daughter against her will.
The docu-series makes mention that he has friends in the Chicago Police Department who would inform him about welfare checks at his studio, which is an alleged “sex cult” base where the singer held girls captive, per TMZ. The outlet also reports that officers have been patrolling the area since the broadcast of “Surviving R. Kelly”.

“There is nothing more important to CPD than integrity, accountability and the highest of professional standards,” the Chicago Police Department said in a statement. “While we do not have any current complaints of misconduct, we strongly encourage anyone who may have information related to the domestic violence allegations or who suspect or have information about wrongdoing on the part of officers to please contact Internal Affairs or the external Office of Police Accountability or Chicago Inspector General’s Office so these matters can be independently investigated.”
Meanwhile, two women said to still be living with R. Kelly — Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary– are hiring lawyers in an attempt to stop their parents from their efforts to rescue them from the hitmaker. The parents believe he’s brainwashed their daughters.
In related news, thejasminebrand reports that Faith Rodgers, the woman who accused Kelly of giving her an incurable STI, hit up Instagram on Monday and Tuesday to share her emotions over the backlash she has received since coming forward with her experiences with the singer.
She initially thanked people who reached out with support, writing, “The love I’m receiving is keeping me afloat. Thank y’all.”
In another she questioned, “Do y’all think about the sh*t that comes out of your mouths sometimes? I can’t fight everyone who isn’t on my side but you not gone talk crazy lol … blocked”.
She added: “I cry everyday lol I’m ready for it to be 2020 now.”
According to the report, Rodgers originally came forward with her claims back in May 2018, and also revealed that she had filed a lawsuit against Kelly for “sexual battery,” “willfully, deliberately and maliciously” infecting her with herpes,” and claimed he “mentally, sexually and verbally” abused her.
