Drake: Adorable Letter the Singer Penned for His Mother Up for Auction

*A handwritten note penned by Drake to his mother when he was a young lad has gone up for sale.

Memorabilia company Moments in Time is selling the letter – as well as an early biography – for a $7,500, per MSN via TMZ.

In the note, Drake promises to clean his room, to which someone writes back: “in order to receive 8:15 am rides this week — room must be clean + bathroom must be clean AS PROMISED FRI JAN. 18th!!!”

On the back of the noted, the R&B hitmaker, born Aubrey Graham, wrote of himself: “Aubrey sings, raps, and acts.” There was also a nod to his father: “Dad was in a blues band and when allowed, I would watch him play and sometimes get up and sing.”

He also listed his musical influences: B.I.G., Will Smith, Lil Bow Wow, Usher, Al Green, and JAY-Z Michael Jackson and R. Kelly, per Complex.

It’s not exactly clear when the note was written but the page was reportedly taken from Drake’s old lyric book, “which was found in a dumpster near his grandfather’s old furniture factory in Toronto, where Drizzy used to work,” the TMZ report states.

In related news, Drake recently addressed those who have called him a “culture vulture” because he supports up-and-coming artists overseas, Complex reports.

“I don’t know what that means,” he told BBC Radio’s 1Xtra Rap Show host Tiffany Calver. “I’ll never understand how supporting somebody’s song or giving someone a song isn’t admirable. I had to get that off my chest.”
