*Courtney B. Vance dished about his 21-year-old marriage to wife Angela Bassett while at the premiere of “Avengers: Endgame” on April 22.
The 59-year-old actor said the secret to their successful union is teamwork.
“It’s, ‘Yes, dear. How can I help? What do you need me to do?’” he tells Us of the relationship.
“Our focus is on our children and what we need to do as a family,” he explains. “Careers and things follow that.”
Speaking of their careers, Angela has signed on to co-star in “Gunpowder Milkshake,” a female-driven assassin thriller directed by Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado and co-starring previously announced stars Lena Headey and “Avengers: Endgame’s” Karen Gillan, Deadline reports.

The Oscar-nominated actress (along with billionaire businessman Robert F. Smith) will also receive an honorary Doctorate of the Arts from the historically black college, Morehouse College, according to Black Enterprise.
“As Morehouse College celebrates its 152nd year of serving students, we are honored to welcome our community partner Robert F. Smith, one of the greatest business minds of our time, back to campus to share in the ceremony that is the highlight of the year,” said David A. Thomas, President of Morehouse College, in a press release. “His words of inspiration, and the presence of our other honorary degree recipients, will give the Class of 2019 a memorable experience that will challenge them to take the lessons that they learned as Men of Morehouse and become game-changers in their future endeavors.”
Morehouse College’s 135th annual commencement will be held May 19.
Meanwhile, Vance says he and Bassett, who share twins Bronwyn and Slater, both 13, also make sure to spend quality time together. “We used to go see two and three movies a night,” the actor recalls. “Just fun things.”
As his wife prepares to turn 60 in August, the Emmy and Tony winner is planning an extravagant birthday bash for Angela and 300 guests.
Bassett and Vance wed in 1997 and the Emmy winner in October 1997, told Net-a-Porter in August that divorce is not an option for she and her husband.
“He always said divorce is not an option,” she explained. “I’ve always told him: ‘Do what you want to do’ – meaning pursue his dreams – ‘because I don’t want you to get to the end and blame anything on me.’”
