*Anytime artists you really aren’t checking for have something to promote, they drop a bombshell about their sexuality to get the buzz going.
Cue Comedian Jerrod Carmichael, who got quite candid in his latest HBO special on Sunday, revealing during a discussion with his mother that he has had sexual relationships with men.
On Sunday evening, HBO aired the first of two half-hour specials called “Home Videos” by Carmichael, a half-hour docu-styale series that will, according to HBO, “explore aspects of the black experience through interviews with his family.”
The series features Carmichael’s conversations with some of the women in his life during a visit to his hometown, Winston-Salem, N.C.

During the conversation with his mother, he brings up his father’s infidelity and “multiple children outside of the relationship.”
“The only thing weirder than finding out your father has a second family — is finding out that you guys are that second family.”
That was how Jerrod Carmichael ended his 2017 HBO stand-up special “8,” New York Times reports.
After asking his mom to reflect on the affair that her husband once had, Jerrod tells her, “I worried and continue to just worry for you, you know. And I just want to make sure you’re OK.”
Cynthia explains how her faith helped her overcome hardship. “Life is full of choices. I choose to be happy,” she said.
Carmichael then wondered if she has ever been attracted to women.
“I’ve hooked up with dudes before,” Carmichael revealed, to which Cynthia replied, “Well, OK. That’s your option. I like men.” She also noted that she has never been attracted to women in that way.
And with that…. the conversation quickly switched topics and no futher mention of his sexuality was made.
An airdate for the second part of “Home Videos” has not yet been announced.
