2019 BET Hip Hop Awards Takes Over Atlanta (EUR Exclusive/WATCH!)

*The 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards convened a plethora of figures in rap music and pop culture at the Cobb Energy and Performing Arts Center in Atlanta. The show took place on Saturday, but officially aired on BET last night (10-08-19).

Comedian and actor Lil’ Duval, who had one of the hottest songs of the past year with “Smile” (Living My Best Life), served as the host.

Among the highlights of the show was female rap legend Lil Kim performing and also receiving the I Am Hip Hop Award. Additionally, Megan Thee Stallion,  Da Baby, Rapsody, Rick Ross, Lil Duval, Saweetie, YBN Cordae, Chance the Rapper and others took the stage to perform chart-topping hits.

The BET Hip Hop Awards also featured a lyrical cipher that included Kash Doll, Iman Shumpert, King Los, Travis Thompson and IDK, as well as the first-ever, BET Hip Hop Awards rap battle. It was a day of high energy.

Prior to the awards show, celebrities flooded the green carpet and EURweb Associate Ivan Thomas was on the scene to capture the action with exclusive coverage. Check out some of the interviews above.

Although she was not present, Bronx representative Cardi B led all recording artists with nine nominations and took home a couple of awards. See below for the complete list of the winners from the various categories:
