*According to an upcoming book, “Barack and Joe: The Making of an Extraordinary Partnership” by Steven Levingston, Obama refused to endorse Biden for president in 2016 or 2020.
Barack Obama threw his support behind Hillary Clinton in the 2016 general election, and Levingston claims the former president chose Clinton over then-Vice President Joe Biden because Biden was “just another white guy,” Inquisitr.com reports.
“Joe, despite his many virtues, was just another white guy, one in a long line of American presidents — hardly the symbol of the Teutonic change that Obama hoped would mark his place in the history books,” Levingston wrote, per Breitbart.

Obama wanted to extend his legacy and he believed Hillary could help him do that.
“Barack had placed his bet on Hillary, the one he believed would confirm his revolutionary stamp on American’s political culture – the first black president passing the baton to the first woman president.”
The book also claims Obama passed on endorsing Biden for president in 2020, which was a major blow for Joe. But it stung even more when Obama met with other potential presidential candidates, including Beto O’Rourke.
The book also details an anecdote about Obama as a newly elected senator emailing one of his advisers, and stating “Shoot. Me. Now.” during one of Biden’s speeches.
Meanwhile, Biden remains the front-runner in the 2020 presidential race, even though he’s also facing attacks from Donald Trump in the wake of the Ukraine scandal.
In response to the attacks, Biden’s camp reportedly sent a letter to all major TV networks urging them to stop booking Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, who is allegedly spewing lies about Bidens’ Ukraine dealings.
“While you often fact check his statements in real-time during your discussions, that is no longer enough,” the letter reads, per The Daily Beast. “By giving him your air time, you are allowing him to introduce increasingly unhinged, unfounded and desperate lies into the national conversation.”
“Barack and Joe: The Making of an Extraordinary Partnership” is scheduled for release by Hachette Books on October 8.
