*”Thank you, Mr. Bill Russell. Thank you.” We bet that’s what a lot of Charles Barkley haters are saying today after seeing the legendary octogenarian (he’s 84) gave the the vaunted “Round Mound of Rebound” the middle finger salute.
It went down on live TV Monday night at the NBA Awards. Russell flipped the bird as the camera panned to him as Barkley was on stage acknowledging him, “Mr. Bill Russell, thank you.”
Well, we guess Mr. Russell wasn’t exactly thanking him back. In any event, it didn’t take long for the video to circulate and for Russell to hit social media to (kinda, sorta) clear up the incident saying on Twitter:
“Sorry everyone, I forgot it was live TV & I can’t help myself whenever I see Charles it just is pure instinct. @NBAonTNT @NBA #birdman #NBAAwards.”
Don’t worry ’bout it Mr. NBA legend. Nobody’s complaining.
If you haven’t already, watch it go down in the footage above. Plus, following Bill Russell’s reaction, watch the new NBA Coach of the year, Dwane Casey, address getting fired during his speech at the NBA Awards.

In other news, in proof that Jermaine Dupri may having some financial issues, the ATL based music producer is accused of refusing to pay $575k in back taxes. It must be bad because he’s been hit with a lien, reports theJasmineBrand.
On May 29, Dupri was hit with a state tax lien by the Georgia Department of Revenue. The lien accuses him of refusing to pay up on taxes for 2012, 2014 and 2015. The Department claims Dupri owes a total of $578,638 in taxes.
The original amount owed was only $278,903 but grew with interest ($165k), penalties ($78k) and other collection fees ($55k) over the years.
The site says the government is warning the producer that they will begin to seize his property and assets if he doesn’t pay up ASAP.
