Snake meat is widely accepted in many parts of Asia, most especially due to its alleged medicinal benefits.

The snake is considered a delicacy in countries such as China, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia.

In Cantonese cuisine, the snake stew is often consumed in autumn due to its warming effect of the body.
