*Stacey Dash is trying to take her right wing zealotry to the U.S. Congress.
The actress filed paperwork to the Federal Election Commission on Monday to run as a Republican in California’s 44th District, a seat held by Democrat Nanette Barragan.
This means she would represent the people of Compton, Watts, San Pedro and North Long Beach in Washington. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by a wide margin in the Los Angeles-area district.
Dash, best known for her role in the 1995 film “Clueless” and BET’s “Single Ladies,” hinted on social media this month that she was considering a run, even posting a “Dash to DC” logo.
She worked as an on-air contributor at Fox News until 2016.
Below, Dash responds to positive feedback in her comment section after her “Dash to DC” post.
