*OK, say you’re not you, but you’re actor Shemar Moore and you’ve just been selected to be a juror for the Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman trial. Would you serve on the jury or risk being sanctioned by the court possibly jailed?
Well, you do don’t have to make that decision, but Shemar Moore did. When TMZ ran into the “S.W.A.T.” and “Criminal Minds” star at LAX over the weekend and asked him that hypothetical question about the man who ran the Sinaloa Cartel , it didn’t take him long at all to come up with an answer.
“I mean, he’s running stuff. You know, they do some underground stuff and he’s connected. From what I understand he’s got police in their little government. El Chapo’s no joke, man,” Moore responded, before going on to confess to the obvious. “I would do everything I could to protect myself, period. What you gonna take the word of a man you know who’s done some grimy stuff? Nah, you know what, I’m gonna miss that day. You gonna put me behind bars for a week because I didn’t do jury duty but I saved my life? Man, give me some toast and some peanut butter and some apple juice, I’m straight,” he said.
Just so you know, TMZ’s hypothetical inquiry comes as Judge Justin Brian Cogan contemplates having jurors be anonymous and flanked by full-time security in order to protect them from the prospects of being assassinated by the crime boss’ people.

The actor took an unconventional approach when it came to landing his Grammy date, actress Anabelle Acosta (pictured above).
“I’ll tell the truth, I wrote an email,” the actor, 47, told Entertainment Tonight. “I did that impromptu chivalry stuff. I took a chance, I leaped.”
Best known for her work on “Quantico,” the actress, 37, appeared impressed by Moore’s attempts to win her over.
“Very sweet. He was a gentleman. I had to write back,” she said with a broad smile.
Although Moore thought his email-writing skills were romantic, he wasn’t sure she’d respond.
“I went back to my creative writing classes,” he quipped as Acosta looked on. “I got my mom in my head. Show respect. I was a poet.”
